My mom, Parker and I had a fun first day in Destin. It took us about 6 1/2 hours to get there, but the drive wasn't bad at all! We had a very exciting trip down. About 2 1/2 hours into the trip, there was a major drug check point on the interstate. It was the biggest checkpoint I have ever seen. There were probably about 50 law enforcement officers, the big drug enforcement charter bus, a big van with several drug dogs and even a tent set up on the side of the road. It was really unbelievable! They had 2 different cars pulled over and had all their luggage on the side of the road and the law enforcement was going through it! Crazy!
No, we did not get pulled over. I told my mom, they probably saw how awe-struck we were at the sight of everything, and they knew we were good to go - hah!
Parker only slept for about an hour the entire trip, but he was in a great mood the entire time!
We knew we were getting close when we saw this!
We ate at a place called Callahan's. It was pretty good - they had a large selection of food. Parker was super-happy after his dinner of a grilled cheese sandwich and fruit!
