Hannah is 9 months!

Our sweet little Hannah turned 9 months on Sunday.  I cannot believe how fast time has gone and that she is 3 months away from her 1st birthday!  We got a great report at her 9 month check up - 22.13lbs and 30in, which puts her in the 95th percentile for both height and weight!  We are truly blessed with a happy and healthy little girl!

Sunday before church, we celebrated her 9 month birthday by having breakfast at Waffle House - hah!  Hopefully she won't hold that against us when she's older!  The waitress made a hat for the kids - I thought the kids were super cute, but I think the kid's face tells a different story - hah!
Hannah loves her little walker.  We don't put her in it too much, but the little bit she's been in it, she is getting faster and faster.  It's like she's in a little bumper car - hah!  She is on the move all the time and every day she crawls faster and faster!  She wants to be where we are and she crawls faster and she pulls up anywhere she can.  She is starting to cruise a little bit, so the fun is just beginning!
Hannah loves to swing, but only for a little bit, because I think she gets bored because she can't move around - hah!  She does like going for a ride in her stroller when we go for walks in the neighborhood.
Hannah loves her Daddy!  Every time he comes home she gives him a huge grin and her eyes light up - I know that makes Brad feel really good!
Hannah is a happy little girl.  She is into everything and making several different sounds.  She's made the "buh" and "da" sounds and her newest sound is the "uh" and "oh" sound, so it almost sounds like she's saying "uh oh."  It's really cute!
My brother got Hannah this hat - it's a pink camo hunting hat that says, "My First Huntin' Hat."  I think they got it as a joke because it was pink - hah!
Hannah has started transitioning over to "real" food.  She still eats baby food, but we've started yogurt and soon we'll try a real sweet potato.  She likes her little puffs and has mastered the concept of picking it up and putting it in her mouth.
Hannah seemed pretty interested in this big ball the other night, so we'll see if that stays with her as she gets older - hah!
The kids get along pretty good with each other.  Both are extremely interested in what each other is doing.  It's good for Parker because we are learning the concept of sharing, so it makes for some great teaching moments.  We are very blessed to have 2 sweet and loving kiddos.

Dinner with My Bestie

Last week I was able to meet up with my best friend, Amy, who now lives in Minnesota.  It was great getting to see her because we don't get to see each other that often, since we both live in different states.  She was in Chattanooga visiting her parents, so we were able to meet halfway in Calhoun for dinner.

She has two sweet boys, Colton who is 5 and Chase who will be 3 in October.
After dinner, the boys raced each other up and down the sidewalk.
I think this is a great picture of the kids, considering their ages (Colton 5, Parker almost 4, Chase almost 3 and Hannah almost 9 months)!
Colton and Chase got Parker an early birthday present, and Colton helped Parker open his gift.  They got  him a light up soccer ball, play-doh, some pop-its and a nice dress shirt.
Colton and Parker giving hugs before leaving - so sweet!
When we got home, the kids were not tired at all - hah!  So, we played with the light up soccer ball from Colton and Chase and we all had lots of fun!
It was very fitting that the boys got Parker a light up soccer ball because I have signed up Parker to play in a fall soccer league at the YMCA starting in a couple of weeks.  So, we have been practicing in the backyard every night.
Parker seems to be catching on about kicking the ball more than once.  However, sometimes he'll just bend over and push the ball with his hands.  So, Brad and I anticipate lots of laughs and good times watching him play soccer this fall - hah!
Our sweet kiddos after a fun night of playing soccer, baseball and softball in the backyard!
Parker and Hannah watching Dad mow the front yard from Parker's bedroom window - hah!  It was pretty funny!

Parker's 1st Days of Preschool

Parker first weeks of preschool have been great!  This week, he started going to the church preschool where he goes on Tuesday and Thursday.  He was all excited and ready to go!  This is the same church preschool he attended last year, so we are very thankful he is able to go again this year.

Last week, we had Open House, so we were able to meet the teachers and see the room.  Parker was very curious!
This picture cracks me up - we were about to leave for preschool and Parker just sat down by his bookbag.  (I think he was preparing himself for the day - hah!)
Outside the church preschool - the teachers and staff there are super nice and very loving.  It is a very friendly and welcoming place to be.  Fran, the director, is awesome and runs a great Preschool and Kindergarten program.
Outside Parker's class.  He was a little unsure of everything at first, but he quickly warmed up to everything that was going on.
Standing inside his class as I was leaving - he's such a big boy!
Standing in line with his classmates waiting to go to chapel.
A successful 1st day with his teacher Ms. Melissa!
Parker goes to our local county preschool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so he's a busy guy going to preschool all 5 days!  Parker started at this preschool on August 1st, so he's a pro going to preschool - hah!
Parker was excited to see his teachers on the first day!
Ms. Holley is the assistant teacher and she was helping to contain Parker while I took a pic - hah!
So happy our little guy enjoys going to school.  He always has a big smile on his face as he runs into school, so I hope his love for school continues as he gets older!

Dentist Visit and Brad's Birthday

Parker went for his 6-month check up at the dentist.  We love our rock-star dentist, Dr. Bongiovi (pronounced Bon Jovi), as he is known in our family.  He is super nice and is always great with Parker.  The office is very friendly and is never over-booked, which makes for a happy mom and little boy!  Parker did a great job laying on the chair and letting Dr. B feel around in his mouth and letting the hygentist clean his teeth.  I was so proud of him, watching him be super still, that I didn't think to take a picture!

Parker got a great report and Dr. B said Parker's teeth looked great and is in the top 5% of teeth!!  We are so thankful!  We also took our annaul 6-month pic with our beaver friend.  I told Dr. B he can never get rid of that beaver - hah!
