It's Nebraska Football Time

Jake was pumped up for Nebraska's opening game today with Western Michigan. He is excited that Bo Pellini is the head coach. Jake put his NE jersey on, but it seems a little more snug than last season. Jake is ready for Parker to get here so he can put on his Husker gear so they can show their Husker spirit together. He is also ready to teach Parker what the Kleeman's do on Nebraska football day and how we don't talk to Daddy during the game!

Jake's Ducks Unlimited Adventure

Saturday morning, Brad, Jake and I were watching a show called "Ducks Unlimited." As most of you know, Brad, his dad, and uncles are avid duck hunters. So, we were watching the show and they were talking about the conservation of ducks and geese and unfortunately, they were showing some actual scenes of men hunting the ducks and geese. Jake was curious about the show because he was sitting on the sofa with us and when they would use the duck call or whistle, he would turn his head side to side. All of a sudden, Jake jumped off the sofa and brought his goose to us! It was absolutely hilarious! It was like he knew exactly what was going on. It was a great moment.

Parker's still cooking

We went to the doctor today and I'm 2cm dialated and 80% effaced. When she checked the heartbeat, she told me he was really moving and she felt his rump! HAHA!! She also told me that he's dropped, so he's getting ready to make his grand entrance. I like to say that he's still cooking - a little lower in the oven now - but, still cooking! The doctor said to keep up the good work and when Parker is ready, he'll make his debut. I'm really hoping he makes his entrance into the world sometime next week. I think Jake is sensing something because we went to walk tonight and he was all over the place! Usually he walks next to us, but he was weaving in and out and being a little stubborn. We think he was rebelling because he knows what's about to happen. Hopefully that was not a sign of what's to come! We will keep you all posted on the progress.

Baby Parker is coming soon!

We went to the doctor today and she told us that I am 1.5-2cm dialated and 70% effaced!! OMG!! She said, "You're going to have a baby soon!" I about fell off the table!! She told me that because I walk every day, that is helping keep my muscles strong and is related to the high percent effacement. She told us to go home and pack a bag and get the car seat ready. I asked her, "What do we do after that?" She said, "You just wait." Now, you guys know me - I am NOT a waiter, I am a planner. This not knowing stuff and waiting is going to drive me crazy! Brad and I are going to use this weekend to get any last minute things done, so hopefully baby Parker doesn't decided to enter the world quite yet.
Brad and I have talked to Jake and explained to him what is happening. He didn't really seem too fond of the idea, but he knows there is nothing he can do about it. He told us he would be a team player! He is sitting in Parker's chair that goes on the swing and beside Parker's bouncer. I think he's going to be a great big brother!
We will keep you posted on any developments!

Jake playing fetch

This is video of Jake playing fetch - one of his favorite things to do. Brad and I are currently working with him on bringing the ball back to us after he has "retrieved" the ball. Sometimes he gets a little lazy and drops the ball before he makes it all the way back to us. We are trying to be "strong" and help him learn to bring the ball all the way back so we can get it and throw it again for him. As you can see by the video, he is still learning, but he gets better each time he does it.

Baby Shower

These are my girls that hosted my baby shower for me. From left to right are me, Jenny, Debbie and Kathy. We taught together for several years and have become great friends. We still keep in touch and see each other on a regular basis. They were extremely kind enough to host this baby shower for me and we all had a great time. I want to personally thank them for all their hard work they did to make the shower a success. I really appreciate their friendship. We had a great turnout and I want to thank everyone who came. You being there really meant so much to me. Thank you for all the wonderful gifts and I can't wait for you all to meet Parker!

This was my baby shower cake. It matches Parker's nursery. The cake was delicious and the decorations and theme were great. It was "King of the Jungle" and I have a feeling that's going to be so true when Parker gets here!
