Big Boy Room

Well, our little man is officially a big boy!  Brad and I finished his big boy room and he's been sleeping in his new room, all night long, for the past week.  It's great, but also sad at the same time, because I realize he's growing up way too fast!  We were going to wait until after his birthday to transition him to his new room, but I just felt it was time to move him.  He has done a great job and I am so proud of him!

This was our guest bedroom, before we turned it into Parker's room.

And here is Parker's new big boy room!  The bunk bed was given to us by my friend Ginny, whom I work with.  It is awesome and fits perfectly in his room!

This bookcase has certainly "been around the block."  It was the bookcase, for many years, in my house in TN where I grew up.  Then, it came to GA when I got my first teaching job and it was in all my classrooms during my 6 years of teaching.  Then, when I wasn't teaching anymore, it came to our house and was in Parker's room for a while.  For the past year, it's been "hanging out" in our basement.  When we decided on Parker's new room, I knew this bookcase would be a perfect fit!

The bookcase got a makeover - primed and painted with a new color!
The finished product!  I was afraid it was going to be too green, but it actually turned out perfect.  I couldn't be happier with my bookcase makeover - hah!

Jake loves Parker's new room, but we try to keep him out as much as possible.  We got a new pad and carpet in this room and he loves laying on it.  He also likes to sit in front of the window where the sun comes through.

Climbing up for the first time!

Parker is very happy about his new room and we are so glad he is enjoying it!

New School Year

Parker started a new school year at Goddard this past Monday.  He's in the same class he was when we started back in January, but there are 2 new teachers.  We are happy with the school and we think Parker is doing a good job there.  He had a great first week back!

Parker was ready to go on his first day - he's 1 month shy of 3 years old!
Parker 6 months ago when we started at Goddard - he was 2 years 4 months old
Parker 1 year ago when he first went to school - he was 1 year 4 months old

Parker and Jake were a little sad to be away from each other for a while - hah!

These were Parker's first teachers at Goddard, Ms. Diana and Mrs. Dionne
This was Parker's very first "school" teacher Mrs. Dawn, 1 year ago.  Parker was 1 year 4 months old.

Having fun in gym!  The school has an indoor gym where all the classes get to have gym time every day!  They also go outside, so they get a lot of physical exercise, which Brad and I like very much!

Parker's fantastic artistic ability - a crayon he decorated above his cubby and his "person" that decorates the outside of his room.

Dinner with Friends

Friday we were fortunate enough to get to see my bestie, her husband and family.  Amy, Casey and the boys now live in Minnesota, so it's much harder to get to see them.  Casey is here for work and they are able to visit Amy's family and friends.  We were so glad we were able to work it out to see them!

The boys have gotten so big since the last time we saw them.  Colton, 4, sang us a song at dinner and entertained Parker, which Parker loved by the way!  Chase, almost 2, was a cute little thing who loved to be held by his mommy.

The boys outside after dinner - bad idea to have 2 different cameras in 2 different places - hah!

The boys and me and my bestie, Amy

This was us almost exactly 1 year ago - my how the boys have changed!

Outside the restaurant was a little garden area where the boys could run around and play.  It was shaded and perfect to let the boys run off some steam!

Amy, we had a great time getting to spend some time with you, Casey and the boys.  Thanks for meeting us and so glad we were able to work it out.  I miss you and I am already looking forward to seeing you again soon!
