Baby Shower

I had a fun baby shower on July 20. This was given to me by 3 of my good friends and former teacher teammates. From left to right are Christie, Anna, myself and Ginny. Another good friend and former teammate, Susan, also helped out, but she was unable to come. We are 5, including Susan, of the original 1st grade team from my 1st year and 1st school I taught at. Christie, Anna, myself and Ginny also all got our masters degree together from Kennesaw State. We were a fun bunch to have in class, but sometimes our professor didn't think so. It was quite a year getting that masters degree! Anna and I have moved on to other schools, but Christie, Ginny and Susan are still at the same school where we all became good friends and teammates. The shower was awesome and I can't thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. Thanks to Ginny for letting us all invade your house. A huge thank you also goes out to all my former colleagues, parents, and friends who attended the shower. Having you all there really meant a lot to me. Thank you for your friendship and your kind words and gifts for Parker - I know he will enjoy them all!

The cake was awesome! It was vanilla cake with strawberries in a sauce filling in the middle. Oh my goodness - so good!

Visit with my Sis and Family

My sister, Amber, and her family were in town for a few days because my nephew was playing in an East Cobb baseball tournament. I always enjoy spending time with my sis because she lives in Virginia and I don't get to see her and her family much. We had a great time and while they were in town, they came over a couple of times and we grilled out. It was a lot of fun!

This is my niece Shelby - she looks just like my sister! It's always fun getting to spend time with her as well. I always bug her about boys, school and her cheer and dance. Sometimes we text each other and see who can do it the fastest - she always wins! She did do a little demonstration for me of her dance routine - I loved your facials!

This is my nephew Dustin. I got an action shot of him pitching in one of his games. I enjoy getting to talk to him and bug him about school and girls. Brad and I are always coaching him and giving him pointers in baseball to help him get better. Keep up the good work!

This is Dustin after he hurt his knee in his last game of the tournament. At least he's laughing about it! There was a play at the plate, Dustin went home to cover, then after he tagged the runner, he went to stand up and his foot slipped on the plate. He said he heard a "pop" and it seemed like it could have been a bad injury. Luckily, it was just a strain! Take care of that knee.

Fun Night Out

Saturday night we had dinner with our friends Mike and Whitney. Whitney and I have known each other a long time. We went to rival high schools and played softball against each other through high school. In college, we got the opportunity to play together at TN Tech. It was great being able to play with Whitney. Mike and Brad also played baseball together at Tech. We are both expecting and Whitney is due just a few days before me. We are looking forward to getting together more often and having playdates with Will and Parker. Thanks for a fun night out!

Surprise Baby Shower

I had a surprise baby shower at my school in May. It was a complete surprise and hosted by the hospitality committee. It was so nice and I was extremely touched by the staff's generosity. One teacher, Mary Helen, was trying to get me to come with her to "help her" with something, but I told her I had a meeting I was in and I would just be a few minutes. After a few minutes, my principal came and got me and told me to go with Mary Helen. I still had no idea and was still assuming that I was going to her room to help her with something. Of course, once I got there, everyone said, "SURPRISE!" and boy, was I surprised. How nice of everyone to think of me. We had cake and punch and it was yummy!

Baby Shower

I had my first "official" baby shower on Sunday, 29th, in Chattanooga. It was given by Amber, Amy, Linda and my mom helped as well. It was a lot of fun and I appreciate everyone who was able to come and share it with me. I also appreciate those of you who were unable to come, but sent a gift. That was very sweet of you. I was touched by everyone's generosity. I especially want to thank Amber, Amy, Linda and my mom for all the hard work, time and effort you guys put into making the shower happen. Thank you all so much. I had a great time!
