Omaha, NE - Day 1 and 2

Well, we made it to Nebraska!  We drove straight through and we made it in 15.5 hours!  We were very proud of ourselves!  We stopped 4 times and to be honest, it really wasn't all that bad.  Parker slept "some," Jake slept almost the entire way, and Brad and I switched off and slept when the other was driving.  It wasn't a bad drive at all.  We had lots of toys to keep Parker occupied, so he was fine with that.  Everytime we stopped, we got Parker out and walked him.  We are definitely looking forward to some relaxing days here in Nebraska!
I'll be posting pics throughout the week, so check back often!
Parker slept about 3 hours total for the trip.  That's about what he sleeps when he takes his naps during the day, so that was good.
Yes, he has his shirt off.  He did have a cute one on, but he was drinking his milk, and he spilled it on his shirt.  All his clothes were in the trunk, so I just took off his shirt, laid it in the back to dry, and Parker went shirtless until we made it to our next stop.  It didn't seem to bother him, and it was pretty funny to see him patting his belly! Hah!
Jake was loving life.  He had a blanket under his little bed, and he was good to go!  He slept almost the entire way there.
We made 1 long stop for lunch, so we decided to eat at Steak-n-Shake.  Brad had never eaten there before.  It was pretty crowded, but we actually got in and out in about 45 minutes.  It was good to be out of the car for a while.  Parker got to sit in a booster seat, instead of a highchair, so he thought he was hot stuff!
We thought Steak-n-Shake was a very kid-friendly place, because of the activities they provided for the kids and the selection and price of the kids menu.  So, if you have kids, I would definitely take them there - cute place!
Our next day in Omaha, Brad and I went to the College World Series.  We got to see TCU and UCLA play.  It was a little warm, but there was a nice breeze blowing.  However, this was the longest game ever (without going into extra innings)!!  The game lasted almost 4 hours and it was because the UCLA pitchers took 20-30 seconds between each pitch.  Yes, I counted!!  It was a little ridiculous and the fans were getting restless.  The TCU innings were great - fast-paced, throwing the ball around quickly, and hustling, but the UCLA innings seemed to last hours because the pitchers took so long to throw the ball!!
Luckily, TCU won, so that was good (we were definitely pulling for them to win) and so was 75% of the crowd!!
Brad and I at the game.  We got there early, for batting practice and infield/outfield, so that's why you don't see many people around us.  It filled up very quickly by game time.
We left Parker with Grandma and Grandpa Kleeman and they all had a blast!  It was a good thing we left Parker, because he would have been so hot and miserable, with the heat and because the game was so long.
TCU players - they beat UCLA 6-2.  These 2 teams will play again to see who makes it to the championship game.  Go TCU!!
TCU's mascot is the Horned Frogs.  The local news interviewed fans about their mascot and they said it's a small reptile that spits blood from its eyes.  They also told how to make the symbol with your hands.  You hold up your first 2 fingers, then bend them down a little, then pop your wrist back and forth, like you are striking something.  It was pretty cool and neat to learn!
The Horned Frog strike!
