We made the long drive to Nebraska to enjoy a few days of fun, sun and relaxation! The drive takes us 15 hours, and I know that sounds like a long time, but it's actually not that bad. I think because we have done it so much, it's just second-nature to us now!
Parker and Jake were great travelers! Jake won the award for sleeping the majority of the way and Parker won the award for staying awake the longest (he only slept 1 hour)! This pic of Jake was one of the few times he was awake during the trip!
I had to get a picture of Parker sleeping to prove he did sleep, even if it was for an hour!
The boys asleep in the back - even Jake was snoozing!
Jake got to ride in the front with me for a while. He was not a helpful co-pilot because he slept the entire time! Hah!
Parker chillin' in his seat with Daddy's glasses - hah!
Daddy and Parker making their own fun. Brad and Parker played peek-a-boo with the pillow, counted fingers and toes, and the tickle game. It was really funny! Who needs technology when you have good ol' fashioned games - hah!
Our first day in Nebraska, we took Parker to a park. It was hot, but the wind was blowing, so you didn't stay hot for long. It is the same temp as back home, but with the wind, you don't get hot and you really don't sweat - it's great!
We all decided to try out the see-saw. This was interesting because none of us had been on one of these for many, many years!
Parker's 1st experience with a see-saw. He loved it!
Going for a walk (he was not "feeling" his hat) - hah!
He liked Daddy's hat though!
Later, we took Parker to Common Ground, which is like a YMCA. We had the whole gym to ourselves, so Parker was able to run all over - it was great!
Rest break!
We tried to play a little basketball with Parker. Not quite sure if he's the next Larry Bird - hah!
For dinner, Parker got to sit on the counter with Grandma Kleeman and "help" with dinner. He actually helped with sampling some of the food - hah!
For an after dinner treat, we all headed to Red Mango. This was an awesome place! It's an all-natural, all-fresh yogurt place where you make your own dessert, you add whatever toppings you want, then you pay by the weight of your yogurt! It was so good and so fresh! We will definitely be going back!
Parker got to sample my raspberry cheesecake with coconut, sprinkles, mandarin oranges and strawberries. He LOVED it!
After our dessert, we came home and walked off our yummy treat!
While we were there, I took Jake into our friend's animal clinic to get his teeth cleaned and to get 2 teeth pulled. He actually had to get a few more taken out, but he did great. I am glad that's all over!
Parker LOVES "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and wants to do it all the time.
Parker sportin' the "wind-blown" look - hah!
Brad and his dad went fishing one day and came back with 6 fish! 4 of them were catfish and they were a pretty decent size!
More pics and adventures to come!
