Ok, so Day 2 snowed in! The temps today got above freezing (34) for a couple of hours, but there wasn't much melting going on. We had some freezing rain, so the top of the snow has iced over. What melting did happen is all going to refreeze - hard - at night. The lows are supposed to be in the upper teens, and many schools are out again tomorrow, including Brad's.
I think people are starting to "get over" all the snow, mainly because the roads are awful and you can't go anywhere. The city is just not equipped to deal with this type of snow and ice. All the news stations are urging people to stay off the roads! We're on our last gallon of milk, last pack of diapers, and I am out of Rolos candy, so we are hoping things get better soon!
Parker's school was closed again, so we created our own fun. We decided to take Parker outside, after he ate breakfast, to see if he liked being out in the snow any better. Well . . . not so much. He did last a little longer than the day before, but not much. He's just not a big fan of the snow.
(Our sleds are still not here yet either. They are probably ready to come, but UPS and FedEx aren't running! Again, we are hopeful they will come before the snow and ice leaves.)
Poor Jake - he's just pitiful in the snow and ice. The snow-ice is just soft enough to break when you walk on it, and it's very crunchy. Jake was walking so softly on the snow - you could tell he was working super hard and didn't know what to think. Needless to say, he slept all afternoon! Hah!
We put Parker on the swing for a few minutes, until he figured out how to take off his glove! See Jake in the background . . . he thought we were ready to go in, because we were walking toward the house. When we stopped and were swinging Parker, Jake looked at us as if to say, "Really?? Come on!" Hah!
We made our own fun tonight. We are all starting to get a little cabin fever, so we are being silly. We started the Kleeman Band!
Brad was really focused on his drumming skills, until Parker wanted a turn!
Parker left the band because he found the remote! Lately, he has been fascinated with the tv, but he only watches the news and the weather. He is also fascinated with the remote and we think he's trying to figure out how to turn the tv on and how to use the remote. He has changed a few channels!
The night became even more interesting when Brad pulled out his duck call.
I love this picture and it reminds me of the snake charmer! Hah! Look at Jake and Parker - hilarious! Of course, right when I took the picture Parker looked away, but they both were watching Brad for several seconds. Too funny, huh?
