Children's Museum

After church last Sunday, we took the kiddos to the Children's Museum in downtown Atlanta.  The weather was going to be pretty cool, so we thought something fun indoors would be great for Parker!  We got there right when it opened and left before it got super crowded.

The museum was great - it had lots of different activities and even I was a little overwhelmed at first.  When we first walked in, Parker didn't really know what to think (neither did I - hah!).  So, he just ran all over checking everything out.  Once he got that out of his system, then we could focus on the various activities.

There was a music area - Parker seemed to like that one pretty good. 

Grandma Kleeman - these are for you!  There was a cow that the kids could actually squeeze the utters and water came out into this pail.  It was awesome and Parker really enjoyed it! 

After milking the cow, we went over to drive the tractor.  Brad and I said Parker looks like a little Uncle Mark on the tractor - hah! 

Oh my, this has a funny story . . . so, Parker is having a great time playing in this sand.  He's scooping the sand and dumping it out.  Then, all of a sudden, he decides to put a big scoop of sand in his mouth.  Oh my goodness, he had sand everywhere!  Needless to say, it didn't taste very good, so he started crying, but I bet he learned a lesson! 

This was cool - it was pipes you could stand up in holes in the floor, then you could take the different shapes and fit them onto the poles.  Parker and I both thought it was pretty neat!

Then, of course, we had to hit the kitchen - this was one of Parker's favorites!

After we finished the museum, we walked across the street to Centennial Olympic Park, just across from Phillips Arena and the CNN center.  They have a nice park area with a playground and big open grass areas.  The weather wasn't too bad in the sun, so we decided to walk around the park before leaving.

This slide was so cool - it had the roller-bars (it reminded me of a conveyor belt)!  All the kids loved it and even Brad went down it to try it out! 

Ok, this is hilarious . . . these made me dizzy just watching!  It was a seat attached to a pole, but somehow the seat was weighted because when you sat on the seat, it immediately started turning.  It reminded me of the Tea Cups ride at Disney World.  Parker absolutely loved it - he was holding on for dear life, but giggling too!

I let him ride it until I thought he had ridden enough because I didn't want to be cleaning up his snack and breakfast - hah!

I like this picture because I think Parker looks really grown up!

To finish off our fun day at the park, Brad thought it would be fun to run Parker through the fountains with him.  Now, the challenge is to not get wet.  The water shoots up from holes all over the bottom and is choreographed to come up at different times.  Everyone there was having a blast running through and trying not to get wet.  

The boys made it safely inside the circle . . . now they had to get out! 

And, as you can tell by Parker's face, they didn't quite make it out untouched.  They both got a little wet, but Parker soon got over it with a few hugs and pats from Mom and Dad - hah! 

Me and my sweet kiddos - we thought the flower design was really cool!  I told Brad this should be our next flower design at our house! 

Parker was absolutely worn out and he fell asleep about 5 minutes after we got in the car. 

Hannah was so excited and had a great day!  She had slept most of the morning, so when we got home, she was wide awake and ready to play - hah!  Thanks to Grandma Henry for the cute blue outfit!
