Fernbank Fun!

Saturday, we took Parker to Fernbank, the Science Museum here in Atlanta.  We had a great time!  We got there right when it opened and there weren't many people at all.  However, by the time we left, it was definitely more crowded.  We even watched an IMAX movie, with Parker, and that went pretty well!

Parker at his first IMAX movie!  He really didn't know what to think at first.  He only cried 1 time and that was during a preview of an upcoming IMAX movie that was all about the waves in Tahiti.  (Go figure, huh, since he wasn't too fond of the ocean or the pool just a few weeks ago!)  We saw the IMAX film Tornado and it was really good.  If you watch The Weather Channel then you've seen the tornado/storm chasers.  It's about the Vortex 2 team and the TIV.  Really cool!

Parker with a dino-lizard.  We didn't mean for it to, but it does look like the dino is about to eat his head.  It looks by Parker's face - he is thinking the same thing - hah!

Fernbank has a children's nature museum area where the kids can explore, touch and play.  It was awesome.  I think Parker enjoyed this area the most!

This was so cool - it was like fog/mist coming down.  Parker was very leery about going through.  It took him quite a while before he got his courage up!

Parker wasn't too sure about the swinging bridge either.  With a little help from Grandma K and a little cheering by me, he finally felt comfortable and mastered the bridge!

Way to go Parker!

This was so cool!  You would walk on the pond and the "water" would move as if you were really stepping into a pond.  We all thought that was super cool!

Parker was fascinated by this lower level with the tall dinosaurs.  It was an open area that was 3 levels high with 2 huge dinos that were almost 3 levels high as well.  It was really neat!

This reminds me of the scene in Jurassic Park

We had a great time at Fernbank.  I would recommend all my mommy friends to check it out!  

Parker was so worn out after such an exciting day at Fernbank, he fell asleep immediately when we got in the car.

Before we got home, we stopped at our local park and let Parker play for a while.  It was so hot - we only lasted about 30 minutes.  Parker had a blast though and he loved the slides!
