Fun at the Farm!

Saturday my mom and I took Parker to Tanglewood Farm in Canton. It's only about 10 minutes from where we live and it's a farm with miniature ponies, goats, llamas, donkeys, horses, rabbits, pigs, and sheep. It's like a petting zoo - you can walk into most of animal pens and pet them and feed them. We had fun and Parker liked seeing all the different kinds of animals. Of all the animals there, he liked the Jack Russell Terrier dogs the best. As we were leaving, they were in a pen running around. We took Parker over to see them and he started giggling because one of the dogs kept running in a circle. Parker would watch him and as the dog ran in front of Parker, he would giggle. He did this for a couple of minutes - it was pretty funny! We did come to the conclusion that the best time to see these animals would be in the fall when it's not so hot. However, the animals were active and they definitely came around when we were in the pens with the bread to feed them.

Parker seemed to enjoy sitting on the horse, so we'll have to get Parker one when he's a little older. I'm sure the ones they make now are much safer - probably made of plastic. I remember my "rocky horse" had metal springs and I remember pinching my finger a couple of times in the springs.


The goats loved the bread we fed them! I tried to give them all at least one piece, and a couple of goats bumped their friends so they could try to get more to eat. This particular goat followed us from one end of the pen to the other (I think he was hoping we would give him more to eat).

I thought this baby goat was so cute! He was just the right size for Parker.


This was one of the miniature horses. Her name was "Tiny Bubbles." She was getting ready to go to a birthday party. The neat thing about the farm is they do birthday parties and field trips. You can have a party at the farm or they can bring the animals to you! That may be something we look into once Parker is a little older.


Parker with the little piggies. Oh my gosh - they were just the cutest things! You may not be able to tell in this picture, but the piggy on the far right was so tiny and so cute. I touched their little snouts and they were just snorting away! I sat Parker down and the piggies came right to the fence and Parker was kicking his legs - it was really cute!

Fun with Grandma Henry

Parker had a fun past few days with Grandma. While she was here, we went to eat at Taco Mac and Zaxby's (two of my favorites), went to Bed Bath and Beyond, Target and Lowe's. I have been looking for some new pillows for our living room and a new rug to go under our dining room table. Having my mom here for a few days, really helped me to be able to look for those things, while "Grandma" carried Parker around in the stores. He was a trooper and did a great job. Of course, as most of you know, timing is everything. I used to get up in the morning (pre-Parker) and begin running my errands by 8:30-9am. Now, I'm lucky if I get out of the house by 1pm. Then, once I do get out, I'm constantly looking at my watch and Parker to see him giving me signs that he's getting tired. I usually have to run my errands in 2 days because I can't get them done during "Parker's time-clock." It's ok though, because Parker is worth it. However, I never knew how much I would cherish going to the grocery store by myself or even going to the bank alone!

This picture is PK sitting in the cart at Bed Bath and Beyond. I found a couple of pillows and there was a GA blanket underneath him, so I thought it looked like a comfy place for Parker to ride. He loved it (as you can tell by the picture)! Too bad I didn't find the pillows first, because he didn't get to ride this way too long because we were ready to check out soon after I took the picture. Also, I never leave home without my camera - there always seems to be a photo-op when Parker is around.

Weekend with Grandma

This past weekend my mom came down to visit with us and Parker. We enjoyed the weekend with her and she just loves spoiling him. Over the weekend, we ventured out to Babies R Us and Toys R Us. I have finally figured my way around Babies R Us, and it doesn't seem so overwhelming. However, when I walked in Toys R Us - I was like, "Where do you start?" I did go to the store somewhat prepared. I had found a couple of things online, printed them off, and took the paper with me. As soon as I walked in, I just found a store associate and asked where those particular items were.
We were looking for a bigger tub for Parker. We found this one at Toys R Us, so we decided to test it out. When I sat Parker in the tub, he immediately laid back with his arms laid out on the outside of the tub. It looked like he was relaxing in a jacuzzi tub - it was hilarious! We ended up not getting a tub, but at least I have these cute pictures.

We went to Babies R Us for a couple of things and my mom was carrying Parker around and I went somewhere else in the store to get something. As I was trying to find them, I came upon this cute little cowboy. I asked my mom what in the world she had done. She told me she found this hat on a rack and decided to put it on my little guy. It was pretty funny because it actually matched his outfit. We did leave the hat in the store, but luckily I had my camera.

We have reached a couple of new milestones now that we are 10 1/2 months old.

-Parker is mastering his pinchers - picking up puffs and eating them. He's getting better putting it up to his mouth and eating most of it. The picture below shows his puff that got stuck to his chin and he didn't know where it was.

-We have also started in 3rd foods. He is doing a good job with that food as well. The first day was a little slow, but he's gotten the hang of it and he's really using his gums to mash the food.

-We have 2 top teeth that have broken through so, he's got 2 teeth on the bottom and now 2 on the top.

-Parker can say, "Mama." It's more like, "Mamamama," but we'll take it. He's also making lots of different and funny sounds. He giggles and smiles a lot.

-He is learning to clap. He's almost got the hang of it. He likes peek-a-boo and playing patti-cake.

-He isn't crawling yet, but everyday he gets closer and closer to moving. I know it won't be too long.

-His sleeping has changed a little - goes to bed around 8:30pm and wakes up around 6:30am. He takes about a 2 hour nap in the morning and about a 3 hour nap in the afternoon.

I can't believe in just a little over a month, Parker will be 1 year old! WOW - the time has gone by so fast! I have already starting making plans for his 1 year birthday party - it should be a fun day!
