Father's Day and 1st Bowling Experience

We celebrated Father's Day by going to Gibbs Gardens and walking around.  It was a really nice day and we went first thing in the morning, so there weren't too many people there.  The gardens had all their flowers blooming and their pots were beautiful!

Brad has already taught Parker to appreciate the flowers - hah!
Daddy and his little girl!
Parker made this trophy picture for Brad and decorated the homemade card for him.
Parker made this at his preschool before school was over.  I thought that was really nice of the teachers to think of Father's Day in May!
I want to also wish my Dad a Happy Father's Day in Heaven!  I miss him so very much, but I know he is looking down on me and my family.  I see my Dad in Parker and Hannah and I am sure they make him laugh every day!  I love you always Dad!
Parker got his first experience with bowling at a birthday party last week.  Parker had never been bowling, so I was a little nervous about how it would go (because I knew there would be a lot of waiting, and Parker likes to be on-the-go)!

However, it turned out great!!  Parker did fantastic and really caught on to the whole bowling concept fairly quickly!  I was so proud of him!

Parker sat patiently while they put all the kids on the lanes and typed everyone's name on the screen.  He even looked super cute with his little bowling shoes!
I explained to Parker how it would work and he was fascinated with the balls rolling down the lane and knocking the pins over!
When it was Parker's turn, we got our 6-lb bowling ball from the rack and carried it together to the slide.  We set the ball on the top, then Parker gave it a good push and off it went!
Parker watched the ball go all the way down the lane and knock some pins over - it was awesome!  He had such a cute look of satisfaction on his face, knowing that he was doing such a good job - it was priceless!
Parker's first score - 8!
Parker bowled a 54 through 9 frames (we didn't get to bowl the last frame), but what a great job he did!  I was super proud of him and he even got a spare on 1 frame - hah!
Griffin's birthday cake - too cute!
We had such a fun time bowling - we can't wait to go back!

What We've Been Up To

So, I realize it's been a while since I've posted.  Work has been really busy these past few weeks, so my blog has taken a backseat.  The work craziness is starting to settle down a bit, so hopefully I can get back to my good blogging habits!  I hope to get you all up to speed on what we've been doing for the past few weeks.

A few weeks ago, we took the kids to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.  We have a membership there, so it's a nice place to go and Parker gets great exercise and wears himself out!  The flowers and bushes are all in bloom, so it's really pretty.  The hydrangeas are my favorite!
Our sweet kiddos!
I started Hannah on baby cereal a few weeks ago and she has been doing great!  She has now moved on to actual baby food and has been doing really well!
On Memorial Day, we went to our neighbor's dad's annual party.  It was hot, but not nearly like it was last year.  We had a good time, but we had to leave early because it was getting to be bed time for both kiddos.
Hannah's face after eating peas for the first time - not too bad!
Brad and I celebrated 9 years on June 7, so we celebrated by going out to eat with the kiddos.  We don't have a picture of ourselves together, because when you don't have family around to take a pic or watch the kiddos, it makes it a little difficult getting a picture.  So, we opted for pics of the kids and with the kids - hah!  For our anniversary, we said we wanted to go out to eat and have our kiddos behave . . . well, they did - they were PERFECT!
I think Brad really wanted to take this pic so he could get our backyard in the picture - hah!
Hannah looked super cute in her watermelon outfit.  I got this from a girl I work with - she told me her daughter wore this outfit when she was a little over 1 year - Hannah is wearing it at 6 1/2 months!
About a week ago, Parker was invited to a birthday party at Monkey Joe's, an inflatable jumpy place.  It was awesome and he had a great time!  He wore himself out.  He didn't care too much about the jumping, but he loved running around the entire place.  It was nice and clean and open, so it was perfect for him!
There was a fan in the floor, so Parker would stop in front of it and let it blow in his face - hilarious!
Parker took a little ride in this police car and Parker looked at me while it was going and wondered why it was going so slow - it was pretty funny!
Parker's favorite part of the party - pizza and cake!
The sweet birthday girl, Ellie (Parker's classmate at his preschool)
Take a close look at Hannah's shirt - we'll see if this is still the case when she's older - hah!
Hannah loves Target as much as I do - hah!  Well, I don't "truly" know if she does or not, but she seems to be pretty happy with me in the store!
Stay tuned for more pics from Father's Day, Hannah turning 7 months and Parker's bowling experience!

Hannah is 6 months!

Hannah turned 6 months on May 19.  I absolutely cannot believe how fast time is going!  It seems like just yesterday we were headed to the hospital getting ready to meet her!  We had her 6 month check-up Friday and everything went great.  She weighed 19.14lbs and measured 28.25in, which puts her in the 90-95th percentile in both areas.  She's going to be a big girl!  She is growing and healthy and we are so blessed!

Hannah on the day she was born . . .

2 months . . .

4 months

6 months

Hannah and Jake are big buddies.  Hannah is absolutely fascinated with him and every time he comes near her, she just smiles and giggles.

Hannah can sit up on her own pretty well.  She still falls over some, but she is getting more stable sitting every day!  She is also trying to "talk" and she coos a lot.

Grandma Henry came to visit, so Hannah (and Parker) both got spoiled!

Hannah is a very "smiley" girl.  She loves smiling for the camera and even tries to reach and grab it.  She's pretty outgoing and recognizes myself, Brad, Parker and Jake.
She's also a good sleeper - she sleeps through the night (unless she's rolling over or needs her paci - then she might wake up for a few seconds, but then goes back to sleep), bedtime at 8pm and wakes up around 6-7am.  She takes short morning naps and a long afternoon nap.

Parker is starting to interact with her more.  For a while, he didn't want anything to do with her, but now that she's more interactive, Parker is starting to play with her and entertain her.

I thought it was very sweet they were swinging together and then he helped push Hannah in her swing!

However, that only lasted for a second, because Parker was off to mowing the yard - hah!

Hannah loves her Daddy!

We celebrated Hannah's 6 month birthday by getting Parker a tee and bat - hah!  He caught on pretty quick, but his face and body language in this picture cracks me up!

I started Hannah on cereal about 2 weeks ago and she has caught on to the concept pretty well.  This was her very first taste of the cereal.  The first few bites were a little rough, but then she liked it.  We were also fairly clean - neither one of us had cereal all over, so that was good - hah!  (Look at her belly - I would say she's pretty content!)

Hannah's first time in the highchair eating her cereal.  This worked so much better than her bouncer seat.  She is a very "on-the-go" and alert baby, so in the bouncer she was moving all over and trying to sit up and roll off - hah!  But, in the highchair, she's strapped in and she can't go anywhere!  However, in the highchair, we were a bit more messy with the cereal, but that's ok - that's what makes it fun!

Hannah can get up on all fours now and she will rock back and forth.  She can "crawl" backwards and side to side - she just hasn't figured out how to go forward yet.  She will try and she just falls on her belly.  I know it won't be long, then the fun will really begin!

Hannah and Parker had their first wrestling match about 2 weeks ago.  I'm pretty sure Hannah won - hah!

Hannah got to ride in the shopping cart for the first time when I went to the store last week.  She's probably about two weeks away from being completely stable in the cart, but it was definitely a good workout for her.  She slept a long, long time when we got home that day!

And, of course, I have to end with a picture of Jake.  He is just a sweet little guy and is a good sport with Hannah when she tries to touch him and pull on him.
