Birthday Party Fun!

It's Jake birthday!  He's a pi dog - 3/14 - and he's 5 years old.  We've had so much fun spoiling our little doggie-child.  Jake has had a great day - he got some gourmet cookies, a new toy, and some other chew treats.
A funny story . . .I took Jake to PetsMart earlier and we were picking out a birthday toy, when all of a sudden, I look at Jake and he's pooping!!! In PetsMart!!!  I was like, you have got to be kidding me!  Of course, PetsMart is used to this and they have "Oops" stations throughout the store, so I cleaned up Jake's mess.  I guess Jake thought since it was his birthday, he would do whatever he wanted to.  I couldn't believe he did that - he has never done that before!
Enjoy the pics of Jake's birthday party fun!

Jake's gourmet cookies - he couldn't wait to get one!

Saturday we went to a 1-year birthday party for a neighbor friend of ours.  We had lots of fun.  There were many girls there, so Parker was one of just a few boys, but he still had fun.

Parker got Meghan this toy, and he has one just like it, but he couldn't figure out why he couldn't move it and play with it, like he does with his at home.

Parker was trying to get in the mix of all the gifts, but he was just outnumbered by all the girls!

Parker had a fun time at Miss Meghan's birthday party.  Thanks Mike and Cami - we had a great time!

New Friends & New Things

We went to eat at Chick-Fil-A and Parker drank from his juice box for the 1st time!  YEAH!  I have tried sippy cups with straws, but he doesn't really think too much of those.  So, a friend of mine told me to try the juice boxes, with the smaller straws.  So, I did and he caught on to the idea really quick!  I started out by putting the straw in his mouth and squeezing the juice.  It was hilarious - when the juice went into his mouth - his eyes lit up.  It was like, "Oh my, there is juice!!"  It was pretty funny.  So, after a couple of times of doing this, he actually started sucking some out of the straw.  I had to hold the juice box, but hey, small steps - right??!!  Needless to say, I was a very proud mommy!

We also got Parker this new chair that comes with a tray.  It is perfect for him and he loves it.  We can do many things with this chair and it's a chair that grows with him as he gets older.  The chair is called a cube chair and you can flip it over to make the seat-part higher off the ground.  We can't wait to use this more - all of us are excited to use it!

Kathy and Lee and their doggies, Birdie and Molly, stayed at our house on their way through to visit their daughter in Florida.  They are from Nebraska and we always enjoy getting to see them.  The doggies were great with Parker, and Parker was so intrigued with them as well.  Of course, Jake was sooooo excited to have some doggie friends over to play.  Enjoy the pics of their visit!

Parker and Birdie getting to know each other!

Parker and Molly getting aquainted with one another!

Doggies all tuckered out after playing with each other all night!

Kathy playing patty-cake with Parker.  We love the Nebraska versions!  Thanks Kathy and Lee for stopping by - we enjoyed getting to spend time with you and your doggies!

18 months!

Well, our little man turned 18 months today!  I can't believe it - time just seems to fly by!  He is making good progress and we are still waiting on him to walk!  Ugh!  I swear, he is on his own timeline.  He's cruising and crawling like crazy - just in no hurry to walk!  Hopefully in the next month or two.
A few new things with Parker:
-he's developing a cute little personality
-he crawls on all 4s everywhere and getting faster every day
-he loves to drop things and then smiles or laughs
-he has 2 new teeth (for a total of 7)
-he likes to grab his books and he can almost hand them to us
-he's very intrigued with Jake (sometimes Jake just wants to be by himself)
-he's still not talking much, but he understands a lot of what we say
-he weighs about 28lbs, but we'll get an exact weight when we go for his check-up next week

Monday was a beautiful day - 60 degrees - so we celebrated by eating at Chick-Fil-A, then coming home and playing in the yard and going for a wagon ride in our neighborhood.  Enjoy the pics of our day!

Getting ready for our wagon ride in the neighborhood.

Parker was excited to go in the backyard and play!

I think I have a future mini-Brad on my hands - intrigued with the grass already at 18 months!
